چکیده

Abstract. Our study aimed to establish a possible correlation between parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels and biomarkers of inflammation in hemodialysis patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.
Methods. This observational сross-sectional involved 108 hyperparathyroidism. The serum cytokines interleukin-1 (IL-1), IL-6 tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) were determined all patients. correlations the inflammatory mediators on one hand level PTH other studied. effects diabetes, heart failure (HF), fractures, smoking status assessed.
 Results. IL-1 diabetes was more than 2 times higher without (p<0.05). 3 TNF-alpha 1.5 2.4 compared HF 1.7 that did not differ significantly HF. 2.3 fractures 2.8 3.6 (p <0.05). Smoking our affect both mediators. A positive concentration found (r = 0.7; p <0.001).
Conclusions. presence chronic is characteristic Proinflammatory cytokine are HF, history fractures. may indicate relationship development hyperparathyroidism inflammation.

Intensification of Anemia by Secondary Hyperparathyroidism in Hemodialysis Patients

The excessive amounts of parathyroid hormone in secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPTH) is suggested to interfere with normal erythropoiesis.  In SHPTH, during chronic renal failure, due to the impairment of erythropoietin synthesis, this effect is more pronounced.  In the present study the role of secondary hyperparathyroidism in the severity of anemia was evaluated in hemodialysis patients (n=3...

Parathyroidectomy reduces intradialytic hypotension in hemodialysis patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.

BACKGROUND Secondary hyperparathyroidism is associated with vascular calcification and arterial stiffness in patients with end-stage renal disease. The aim of this study was to analyze the frequency of intradialytic hypotension (IDH) and cardiovascular function before and after parathyroidectomy (PTX) in maintenance hemodialysis patients. METHODS We compared predialytic and intradialytic bloo...
